Carmen, a practising naturopath and midwife in a busy London hospital, shares her knowledge in nutrition, natural health and midwifery. She is passionate about women’s health and has even started her own nutrition and recipe blog for pregnancy. She’s here to reveal how to stay fit and healthy post pregnancy through to our golden years!
As we enter the month of March, spring flowers emerge and the scenery around us transforms into colourful new world. Our bodies naturally want to detox, and so do our minds. Think of the phrase ‘spring cleaning’. It also applies to our bodies!
And so, in light of this, there is no better time to launch our health blog. For all those of you who are already thinking about that summer holiday you are about to book (beach body anyone?), or you are just looking to stay fit and healthy, that’s what I’m here to help you with.
Adopting a healthy lifestyle
As a natural health practitioner (Naturopath), my instinct always lays on preventing disease rather than treating it once it’s there. Our bodies can be very resilient but if you spend years not looking after it, it may not thank you in the future. Although the health advice out there can be pretty conflicting, the answer is generally quite straightforward: Eat a diet rich in whole foods, exercise, get enough sleep, but most importantly- be happy. And you guessed it; adopting a healthy lifestyle means you are also a lot more likely to be happy!
But, as we all know, the reality of staying healthy isn’t always quite so simple. And so, this blog will be a culmination of my experience as a naturopath and midwife, where I’ll share tips, advice, and maybe a few interesting stories thrown in for good measure. You can expect posts about regaining your energy, pre-pregnancy weight, tips to recovery quickly after giving birth, healthy nutrition and much more.
